The 2012/13 production cycle is almost complete with cane crushing only going on in a few mills in Mexico and in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu so that it is time to present our final estimate of world sugar production. Crushing of the 2013/14 crop has already started in top producer Brazil's key Centre/South region in April and with the northern hemisphere beet crops developing in the ground for harvesting from the end of the third quarter onwards, we will also take an early look at prospectsfor some 2013/14 crops.
