Founded in 1919, the French Faiveley Transport is an international leader in the railway equipment sector. The company pioneered pantographs for the first electric railways in 1922. By 1968, it had applied its electronic know-how to automatic systems. Today Faiveley Transport has expanded its business to include the product lines of air conditioning systems, electronics, customer services, quality assurance, train doors, pantographs and platform screen doors. "We are a multitechnological company," says Edmond Ballerin from Faiveley's communication department. "We aim to exploit the new technologies so as to offer railway passengers the utmost in comfort and safety"
