World arabica coffee futures trended lower in the period under review as prices took a hit from profit-taking towards the end of the month. Market participants remained jumpy, reacting strongly to bullish forecasts for drought damage to Brazil's 2014/15 (Apr/Mar) and the following crop. Prices hit the highest in nearly 26 months in the period under review (219.00 cents/lb for benchmark July on April 23), but speculators booked profits after the steep climb to eventually bring prices down.
