World coffee prices declined in the period under review, being pressured by excess arabica supplies on the back of a bumper Brazilian crop and a recovery in Colombian output as well as the expectation for hefty robusta supplies from the upcoming Vietnamese harvest. Arabica prices dropped over 5% in the second half of September. The benchmark December contract in New York stood at 113.70 cents/lb at the end of the period under review, down 6.30 cents, while futures for March delivery gave up 6.15 cents to 116.85 cents/lb.
