Castle find new market from European landfill legislation

European legislation banning the disposal of liquid waste in landfill sites has given Castle Cement a new market. The use of cement in ground solidification and stabilisation (S/S) technology is well established in overcoming restrictions on landfilling. It is also proving a success on a dredging contract being carried out for British Waterways in west London. Specialist contractors Land & Water Remediation and adding 1,200 tonnes of Castle Ordinary Portland cement to wet dredged material from the Grand Union Canal to turn it into dryer material overnight to meet legal requirements for landfill.
