Consumer group fights lease sale cancellation

The Consumer Energy Alliance submitted a petition with more than 650 signatures of New Mexico citizens to U.S. Bureau of Land Management Director Neil Kornze, asking the agency to reconsider its decision to cancel an October oil and gas lease sale near Chaco Culture National Historic Park in New Mexico. The park is southeast of Farmington, N.M., in the San Juan Basin.
