· How many mining sites have a revegetation problem?· How many sites with a revegetation problem also have a harsh site with a hostile environment?Most mine, mill or process sites have rock or process materials with poor agronomic qualities. Integrated Agronomic Restoration brings together agronomy, microbiology, and landscaping with the use of organic nutrients applied through irrigation and subsurface and plant monitoring methods to promote the transition of rock and process materials into soil with plant sustaining qualities. Soil is a growth media, which contains organic matter and is populated with an abundance and varieties of microbes. These methods restore and revegetate damaged areas. The key to this program is to work within the boundaries of nature.In the last ten years, new products, practices, and techniques have been developed and used in the landscape and golf course construction industries to revegetate in difficult areas and conditions. This cross-over technology of agronomy into mine remediation and restoration will save money and reduce liability.
