China's Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals (CCCMC) has been publishing price ranges for antimony trioxide in 2003. The quoted figures show ranges of 2,100 dollars-2,400 dollars/tonne for antimony trioxide on an FOB China basis for August 2003. Prices have remained high in 2003 with ongoing production shortages due to mine closures in Guangxi. This has also resulted in global shortages. On 20 August, China Business News reported that China's 2003 export quota for antimony is only 67,000 tonnes, 3,000 tonnes less than the 2002 figure. However, this figure reflects more the significant price increases as the actual export volume from Hunan dropped 14 percent in the same period of 4,998 tonnes.
