Enforcement

In June Essex CC considered the discharge of enforcement notices raised following unauthorised mineral working at Wrabness Hall Farm, Wrabness by Mr J Acton. In December 1995, two enforcement notices were issued in respect of unauthorised mineral extraction and waste disposal on land to the north of Wrabness Hall Farm and Wrabness church, which are both grade II listed buildings. Both notices were upheld on appeal (see Mineral Planning Appeals in Great Britain 1996 p.128). The restoration schemes were not, however, submitted and the landowner was prosecuted for failing to comply with both enforcement notices and pleaded guilty. A restoration scheme was later submitted, and the works required carried out. No further action was required and the enforcement notices should be withdrawn.
