NEW YORK-Alcoa (NYSE:AA) has announced that its Sandow Mine in Rockdale, Texas received the "Good Neighbor Award" in the 2012 Excellence in Surface Coal Mining Awards from Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM). Alcoa was recognized for successfully working with the community while conducting exemplary mining and reclamation at its Sandow Mine.
