Hearts, minds and ecosystems

摘要

Much has been heard about the 'ecosystem approach' to the integrated management of land, or the various types of 'ecosystem goods and services' that land can offer. These concepts have been developing since the 1960s, but the publication of the government-sponsored National Ecosystem Assessment (NEA) in 2011 has firmly established their value in the UK. The NEA recognised that land has the potential to deliver a wide range of goods and services.
