MINING AFFAIRS FORUM/New Interior Secretary Could be a Mysterious Riddle

Being from the state of Idaho, I have watched Dirk Kempthome as mayor of Boise, as U.S. Senator, as Governor, and soon as our potential Interior Secretary. Just what can we expect from, him? Dirk Kempthome is a man of varying opinions and beliefs which cannot be pinned down. One time he appears, or at least speaks, as a conservative. The next time he turns around and supports a liberal position. Will he be as consistent as Gale Norton was? Personally, I do not think so. His moderate Republicanism will prevail to the chagrin of many and will win him kudos from many liberals. It may take at least a year to obtain a legitimate "read" on him in this new position.
