NEW TRAPSHOOTING HEADQUARTERS AND HALL OF FAME TO BE LOCATED ON RECLAIMED MINE LANDS

The new home of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), which is expected to generate tremendous economic opportunity in Southwestern Illinois, will be located on the land that formerly provided economic activity from coal mining.Through a transaction between the state of Illinois and Peabody Recreational Lands, 1,000 acres of reclaimed lands will be purchased by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and used for the association's headquarters and Hall of Fame. The area, located near Sparta, is the site of Peabody's former River King No. 6 Mine.
