Revised EIA guidance stresses need for clear and understandable applications

The guidance in the Planning Practice Guidance on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was updated in November to include a new paragraph on what information should be contained in an environmental statement. The guidance reiterates that while there is no statutory provision prescribing the form of an environmental statement, it must contain certain information specified in Schedule 4 of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2011 (the "Regulations").
