Mobile system for delivering explosives

State-of-the-art mobile bulk explosives manufacturing and delivery vehicles are being built at BulkTec International's new 5 million Canada dollars, 4,200 m~2 facility in southeast Calgary, Alberta. BulkTec is a joint venture between Calgary-based Explosives Ltd and ICI Explosives Canada. Aimed at serving open-pit mines, quarries and large construction projects such as pipelines or hydroelectric dams, the vehicles come in three basic designs: Super AN trucks used for loading ANPO and Super AN~(TM) in dry holes; Magnafrac~(TM) trucks for loading its namesake in wet holes; and Blendmaster~(TM), the most advanced design, which delivers a wide range of bulk explosive products for both wet and dry conditions. The trucks have a capacity of up to 20,000 kg. The Blendmaster vehicles are equipped with a sophisticated onboard computer system to ensure precision blending and fast filling of boreholes. It has the capability to manufacture a wide variety of bulk explosives. Both Super AN and Magnafrac vehicles can also accommodate computer control systems.
