Stormy weather creates power crunch

SOUTH Africa's state power utility Eskom Holdings Ltd has come under increased pressure to supply the country's mines with adequate electricity levels amid unseasonably cold and wet weather, which further reduced power generation after the company's recent power crisis. The wet weather has increased demand for electricity across South Africa, stalling nine of Eskom's generators while another nine were closed for maintenance, the group said.
