摘要

The Colorado Supreme Court agreed to hear a case that could affect the way mining is regulated throughout the state. Mining companies have challenged a ban imposed by Summit County in 2004 that eliminates the use of cyanide to extract gold. "The concern that we have is that this isn't just about a particular technique used in gold mining," Stuart Sanderson, president of the Colorado Mining Association told the Rocky Mountain News. "It could ban all chemical agents. We are seeking to uphold current law against what we believe is a revisionist attempt to expand county authority."
