In September 2001, Nordberg and Svedala created Metso Minerals. This new company will include Svedala's and Nordberg's brands of minerals and rock processing equipment (ME, May 2001, page 29). The companies within Metso Minerals offer more than 300 products ranging from single machines to complete process solutions. And Metso Minerals can support its customers at more than 500 service locations in more than 100 countries. The company also offers product specialists in product centers and testing facilities.Included in Metso's product line are drilling, crushing and screening, grinding and classifying equipment, as well as enrichment and upgrading, material handling and wear protection. In addition to new installations, the companies provide expertise in optimizing existing plants through automation, plant audits, plant upgrades, parts and scheduled maintenance.
