Mining Hall of Fame honors pioneers, poets and the SME GEM program

National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum held its 14th annual banquet on Sept.8, 2001 in Leadville, CO. The museum's convention center hosted 227 guests, some in Victorian attire.Prior to the banquet, the guests explored the National Mining Museum. Members of the Student Council of Lake County High School served as docents. During the reception, Leadville Municipal Judge Neil Reynolds entertained at the piano. He is a fifth-generation member of a pioneer Leadville mining family. Banquet attendees were greeted by Gordon and Marj Miner of Phoenix, AZ, who served as host and hostess. Miner is a mining consultant in Phoenix.
