New MagnaShear hazardous duty brakes from Force Control Industries now meet Class I and Class II Division 2 specifications. The new brakes employ oil-shear technology to provide longer service life with little maintenance or adjustment. MagnaShear motor brakes have spring set torque ratings from 4.1 to 1,220.2 J (3 to 900 ft-lbs), can be sized to the correct torque independent of the motor frame size or horsepower, and offer quick-mount features for easy mounting to drive motors in NEMA frame sizes 56 to 405.
