Bidding for Chile copper mine heats up; X2 Resources outbid for mine called Andean ATM

THE FIRST MAJOR purchase by X2 Resources will apparently have to wait. According to a report by Reuters, the new resources company, headed by former Xstrata boss Mick Davis, was outbid by seven other companies all looking to acquire Barrick Gold's Zaldivar coper mine in Chile. Rival bids for a stake of up to 50 percent in the mine, once dubbed as the "Andean ATM," were superior to the proposal made by London-based X2 Resources, Reuters reported.
