NEW HIGH RIDGE Mining announced announced that it plans to reopen seven coal mines in Kentucky. The company owner Bill Smith, who is a former vice president of Sidney Coal, said the now idled mines are located across Pike County in Big Creek, Johns Creek and Pond Creek. He says each of the mines is set to open with 36 employees.
