All About Mining - A Total Concept of the Mining Industry is a four-week class for teachers that has been held at the Colorado School of Mines for the past 41 summers. The program has graduated almost 1,500 educators who have taught almost every K-12 discipline in 36 states, the District of Columbia and three foreign countries. The intensive 2009 program included 26 teachers from Colorado, California and Indiana. The teachers spent 10 days in the classroom interspersed with nine days of site visits to geological sites, operating mines, mills and fabrication operations, including three days on Colorado's western slope.
