DESERT LEOPARD: Leopard 2 A5 DK serving with the Danish Quick Reaction Force

The modifications to the model were performed from scratch using measurements from the original tank. The basic kit used was the Leopard 2 A5 from Tamiya (German variant), which I had already rebuilt to Danish A5 standards. With the following exceptions I carried out the following procedure... Before assembling the turret I removed the ring with the bolts on, at the bottom of the loader's access on the left of the turret's upper surface. The rail and the loader's hatch, as well as the ready-to-use small arms mounts, were dispensed with. I used resin castings from the auxiliary power unit (APU), the small tool box and the stowage bin to store the M/96 small arms, as well as from the lower hull rear replacement plate with oval access/ventilation openings - all of which I manufactured myself.
