Heller is to the French, what Airfix is to the British and what Monogram was to the Americans; icons of the home kit industry. This very prolific firm released its first kit in 1957 with a 1/100 scale model of the French SE-210 Caravelle in prototype markings. Heller would and still does produce an impressive line of 1/100 scale aircraft kits, but the vast majority are in the far more common 1/72 scale. One of the great things of this line is a sprinkling of esoteric kit subjects. A quick look at a catalogue comes up with aircraft like the MS 225, Caudron Simon, Dassault Oragan, He-112, PZL P.23 Karas, Saab J.21, Saab 91 Safir, Couzinet Arc En Ciel and many more. As one would expect when a manufacturer produces a home product, it tends to go that extra mile, their late 1960s Potez 63-11 army co-operation twin certainly supporting that assumption - Photo 1.
