During WWII, on the Eastern Front, the Soviet Army utilised many captured German vehicles and used them quite effectively. The same thing was true about the German Army but in a wider context including captured vehicles from many other adversaries. It was no surprise to see French, even Belgian vehicles on Russian steppes. There were incidents that the same vehicle changed sides more than once within weeks. Throughout the course of the war aircraft, trucks, tanks and personnel carriers became friends and foes in equal measure as they were used by both sides.
