Applied mineralogical studies on Australian sand ilmenite concentrate with special reference to its behaviour in the sulphate process

摘要

An important factor in producing titanium dioxidepigments by the sulphate process is the reactivity of the Ti rawmaterial with sulphuric acid. This study shows that Australianilmenite concentrate contains poorly soluble titanium dioxide-bearing phases with an unfavourable textural distribution.
