The Perry Petalite Prospect of Peru, Maine

The "Nate" Perry Petalite pegmatite was discovered and first mined circa 1888 by Nathaniel H. Perry of South Paris, Maine. Knowledge of this "well-known" pegmatite location was lost soon thereafter. In June 1997, Cal Birtic of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, found after much effort what so many had unsuccessfully searched for, the Perry Petalite pegmatite.
