History of Mining the Main Tantalite Dyke/Wodgina, Western Australia, Australia

The Main Tantalite Dyke during its resource life played an important role as a major source of beryllium and tantalum during World War II. It will also probably be remembered as the third largest tantalite deposit in Western Australia after Greenbushes and Mt. Cassiterite. Mineralogically its life is not yet over. Sufficient material exists in collections and still in the pegmatite for numerous studies.
