"We are seeing the return of consumer confidence following a period of recession which hit sales of new motorcycles. We know existing motorcyclists have waited until now to replace older models with new ones and so they're obviously feeling more confident about their financial position. We are also hearing that we are attracting newcomers to motorcycling, as people look for modes of transport which perform well for commuters. We recently measured the performance of motorcycles in six of the UK's most congested cities against cars, public transport and, where appropriate, bicycles. In each case, the motorcyclist arrived first and usually within the time you'd expect to arrive in free flowing traffic, despite being heavily congested."
