This year's Australian and New Zealand Minerals and Energy Council (ANZMEC) Ministerial meeting, to be held in July 2001 in Darwin, will see the New South Wales Minister for Mineral Resources Eddie Obeid take up the Chair of the Council for 12 months from August 2001.The Minister has held the position of Vice Chair for the past 12 months.This will be the 34~(th) session of the Council, which meets annually to discuss a range of issues which have a significant impact on the minerals and energy industries.
