New South Wales for Exploration Success

The New South Wales Government's initiative, Exploration NSW, commenced its second year of operation in July 2001. This year's efforts will expand on the 2000-2001 program with provision of geoscience data to encourage and enhance mineral and petroleum exploration in our State. The additional resources allocated through Exploration NSW and the earlier Discovery 2000 initiative have enabled coverage of high-resolution airborne geophysical surveys to increase to over 50 percent of the State (figures 1 and 2). Second-generation geological mapping supported by the new geophysics now covers more than 30 percent of the Stat.
