Driving down electric avenue: I get ready to embark on a six month fling with a Zoe - and my wife doesn't even mind!
Plenty has been written about electric vehicles (EVs) and I've penned my fair share of the words. From a review of the influential 2006 documentary 'Who Killed The Electric Car' and articles about passenger rides in pre-production prototypes, to stories about the viability of wireless charging, the story count probably runs into dozens. It was all hypothetical until the arrival of the Nissan Leaf in 2011. The world's first production EV made zero emissions (ZE) motoring a reality. Journalists drove the car right through a Milton Keynes shopping centre -because there was no chance of gassing pedestrians - and took it for a spin round the Bucks roads for an hour. People said the age of the EV had arrived. Seen many around, have you?
