The outcome of court cases involving road accidents often depends on evidence from 'expert witnesses' like Douglas Wragg, who recalls two incidents from his case file. The first case I ever undertook was back in 1977 when a woman, who I shall call 'Mrs. Caldwell', was charged with dangerous driving after her new Datsun collided with three other vehicles. Mrs. Caldwell claimed her brakes had Eailed, but a police officer said he rested the brake pedal at the scene of the accident and found it to be working normally.
