Commercial vehicles: Mercedes and three CV dealers fined

Mercedes-Benz and three of its Commercial Vehicle Dealers have been fined by the office of Fair Trading (OFT) for infringing competition law. The dealers concerned, Cicely, Road Range and Enza mainly operate in the North of England and parts of Wales and Scotland. The fines total ￡2.6m. Mercedes-Benz has agreed to pay ￡1,492,646, Road Range ￡115,774, Cicely ￡659,675 and Enza ￡347,198. A further dealer, Northside has also admitted infringing competition law, but will avoid a fine provided it continues to co-operate with the OFT. Northside was the first company to come forward after the investigation started in January 2010.
