The propane industry received some good news March 21 after President Obama signed H.R. 4076, the Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation Act, or HHEATT Act, into law. The legislation, introduced in the House of Representatives by Transportation and Infrastructure Committee chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.), extends the exemptions to hours-of-service (HOS) regulations through May 31, or until the propane emergency is determined to be over.
