BLM Postpones Oil and Gas Lease Sale The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has postponed an oil and gas lease sale in northwestern New Mexico that was scheduled to occur on January 21, 2015, in order to have more time to review public comments regarding potential drainage, tribal consultation, and environmental justice. See News Release, BLM, "BLM Postpones January 21, 2015 Oil and Gas Lease Sale" (Dec. 30,2014). The BLM is in the process of updating the area management plan due to an expected shale oil boom.
