Delisting of the Monongahela River to Benefit Coal Operators On December 29, 2014, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved the Pennsylvania Department of Envi ronmental Protection's (PADEP) proposed delisting of sections of the Monongahela River as an impaired surface water body for "other inorganics" (i.e., sulfates).
