Influence of the casting defects on the mechanical properties of die cast magnesium components

In the last few years there was a continuous growth in the application of die cast magnesium components. To increase the field of application, the detailed knowledge of the behaviour of the material is very important. The casting defects play abig role for the considerations. Not only the causes but also the effects of the defects have to be well-known. The influence of the casting defects on the mechanical properties was investigated in the present work.
