A key part of the proposed Port Bonython development in South Australia was given the go-ahead in January when the state's government formally approved an application to construct diesel receival, storage and distribution facilities for the harbour. Once established, the maritime infrastructure is set to play an important role in the evolution of SA's modern iron ore sector. Oil producer Stuart Petroleum Ltd - via its wholly-owned subsidiary Port Bonython Fuels Pty Ltd - said the mooted facility would be capable of delivering up to 1,000 million litres of diesel annually to fuel growth and industry in the state's north.
