Australian junior Signature Metals Ltd progressed its Konongo gold play in the West African nation of Ghana during the March quarter, with RC drilling conducted in the project area returning some truly mouth watering results. Field activities carried out during 2009 saw the drill being focused on the Obenemase D Lode discovery, which runs to the west of the main Obenemase deposit and has never been subjected to mining. Best gold intersections included 35 metres at 5.23 grams/tonne (from 98m), 7m at 5.30 g/t (133m), 1m at 34.2 g/t (62m), 11m at 2.05 g/t (15m), 8m at 2.33 g/t (87m) and 2m at 9.72 g/t (141m).
