Developments at home and overseas to drive a shift in circumstances for miners

The head of a Chinese mining house which arguably has the strongest presence in Australia's domestic resources industry believes a series of new changes in China's minerals sector will ease the previously acute conflict between supply and demand. Speaking during the recent CHINA MINING conference in Tianjin, China Minmetals Corporation's president Zhou Zhongshu suggested there was a number of developments taking place both in the East Asian country and abroad which would see the Dragon achieve a more sustainable domestic growth agenda. Firstly, he said, the Chinese Government had promulgated a series of measures encouraging minerals exploration and developments with some initial success achieved.
