As a host for valuable volcanogenic massive sulphide copper-gold deposits, Western Australia's Murchison region has been a drawcard since the discovery of Sandfire Resources NL's much touted DeGrussa play two years ago. Certainly Perth-based explorer Talisman Mining Ltd is hoping to replicate this success with its Springfield project, which sits 150 kilometres north east of Meekatharra in the Bryah Basin and is already showing similar geological signs to DeGrussa.
