Trial at WA mine highlights efficiencies

BOCK Australia has raised the bar on underground safety and productivity with the introduction of the world's first mechanised chain link mesh handler for beneath surface support applications. Called ROCK MESHA~(TM), the unit is a bolt-on accessory that can be easily fitted to the feed rail of most multi-boom jumbos. Once installed, it does not interfere with normal drilling operations. The unit carries a cartridge containing three separate lengths of Geobrugg steel mesh. The operator is able to mechanically place and hold a sheet in position, secure it with anchor pins and insert the final bolts into pre-drilled holes - all without leaving the safety of the cab.
