Initial numbers give JV partners a boost as they look to increase their WA field efforts

One of the exploration houses looking to establish an iron ore foothold in the Midwest of Western Australia recently took a sizeable step forward when it announced it had established a substantial maiden JORC inferred resource. Padbury Mining Ltd told the market its mineral inventory comprised 850 million tonnes at 27.3% iron, 46.2% silica, 3.4% aluminium oxide, 0.14% phosphorus and 6.52% loss on ignition. It is hosted in magnetite-bearing banded iron formation units. The delineation and estimation of this first resource was a significant milestone for the project and demonstrated the ongoing potential of the Telecom Hill deposit.
