Mobile phones, computers, information technology equipment of all types and electronics in general use minerals by the truckload each year. And now those companies are coming under the same pressure that jewelry manufacturers and retailers have been under in recent years - to only sell product that contains metals which have been mined in an ethical fashion. Recently, one of the, largest electronics companies in the world - Nokia -announced that it had decided not to use tantalum, cobalt and tin sourced from operations which disrespected social, economic and human rights and/or the environment.
