IN FACT, ONE of the initiatives to come out of this program - Warm Up For Work (WU4W) - has seen a marked increase in the flexibility and overall musculoskeletal health of operational teams. The combined total increase in flexibility between all shifts was an amazing 325 centimetres. WU4W began in August 2008, with every individual on each shift tested to get a score of their flexibility. In November 2008, BAC's exercise physiologist Eoghan McKenna returned to site to re-test everyone and measure the success of the WU4W initiative over the three months.
