GOLD PROJECTS HAVE taken centre stage for Mintrex, and the good news for the resources sector is that rates and costs are dropping as margins are squeezed. The consulting division of Holtfreters Pty Ltd, Mintrex was originally founded by managing director Tom Kendall in Kalgoorlie-Boulder in 1984 and subsequently sold to Sinclair Knight Mertz in 1997. Kendall said the group took the name back in 2007 after the consultancy let it lapse. With a substantial proportion of its work load classified as repeat business, he said Mintrex had a reputation for designing and building simple plants.
