Meanwhile, the search for coal is gaining momentum in WA's prospective Canning Basin. Geological Survey of WA executive director Dr Tim Griffin said these were two of the changes which had occurred in the state since the Coalition Government came to power just over 12 months ago. Speaking during the recent Mining 2009 Resources Convention in Brisbane, Dr Griffin also said there was now a rush to develop uranium projects in WA after a mining ban on the sometimes controversial mineral had been lifted by the Colin Barnett-led administration.
