THE PROPONENTS BEHIND the development of what some believe is one of the world's largest untapped porphyry systems have admitted they still haven't garnered the social licence needed to establish a mining operation in the area. Canadian explorer Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd, which - with joint venture partner Anglo American Plc - is currently trying to navigate its massive Pebble project in south west Alaska through the social/environmental/cultural phase of due diligence, made the admission during the recent Association for Mineral Exploration (British Columbia) Round-up in Vancouver.
